IKEA co-worker home visit, the fourth episode
Resort-style home for the versatile couple
We are back with a new episode of <Home visit>, where we visit homes of people who are home experts.
In this episode, we are showing the home of a versatile couple working in IKEA Dongbusan! IKEA Operation specialist Kwon Sang-deok and IKEA Dongbusan designer Oh Joo-yeon. Come and take a look at their private space decorated with the feeling of a resort.
Living room that feels like a resort
As soon as I entered the house under the guidance of Kwon Sang-deok, I felt as if I had arrived at a cozy hostel in Bali.
The living room had the feel of a resort, and we could feel how much the couple loved the sea. All the furniture was harmonious and arranged according to the couple's lifestyle, and the most impressive of them was the location of the sofa.
The couple has placed their spacious and comfortable SODERHAMN Sofa facing the window so that they can enjoy their favorite sea anytime. So, enjoying the sea from the sofa, and when the waves are good, they go straight out to surf.
“We have always longed for the sea, so we chose this house and decorated it with our own lifestyle.”
Oh Joo-yeon designed the overall house, and Kwon Sang-deok decorated the details. Like a couple enjoying surfing, a surfboard occupied one wall of the living room. IVAR Shelving Unit was used to make the board's cradle for home furnishing. The remaining space was filled with home gardening, another hobby of the couple. MUSKOTBLOMMA Terracotta material pots like MUSKOTBLOMMA were arranged to bring out a natural feel.
Lighting is also an important factor. It is said that setting different heights of various lights such as TÄLLBYN Table Lamp and LAMPAN Table lamp can create a special mood while illuminating the entire living room. Also, one of their tips is to hang a pretty picture frame like BILD Poster for elements you don't like.
“We worked together to create our own harmonious atmosphere."
Kitchen that combines both hobby and practicality
Their kitchen was full of practical products that could accommodate the diverse tastes of the two of them. Couples who love coffee put coffee tools in the RÅSKOG Cart and enjoy coffee in the space they want at any time. Sangdeok Kwon, who likes to cook, recommended the HÖGSMA Chopping Board. It's the perfect size for a cart, so it's said to be used as a lid when not cooking.
The couple's house is often visited by guests, and the EKEDALEN Extendable Table makes it possible to create enough space. And the versatile HOL Storage Table served as a sub-table, chair, or ample storage space.
“If you have a variety of hobbies, decorate a practical space with products with multiple functions.”
A bedroom with the romance of a resort
Even in the bedrooms, we could find a romantic getaway feeling. Rattan products such as MASTHOLMEN Outdoor Armchair were placed to create a feeling of being connected to the living room.
In the bedroom, lighting is also important. The couple is said to have created a more romantic atmosphere by placing cozy lights like LJUSANDE LED Candles and ÅRSTID Table Lamp everywhere.
“Even with suitable furniture and lighting can create a romantic atmosphere as if be in resort.”
Bedding is an essential part of the introduction of a bedroom. The couple used a product containing a cooling gel that maintains a cool sleeping temperature so that they can sleep comfortably even at tropical nights.
In addition, this mattress topper and pillow can be used on the opposite side without a cooling function, so they can get a good night's sleep regardless of the season, even in hot and humid Busan.
Sometimes a workroom, sometimes a guest room.
The last space you introduced was the couple's workroom. There, the double stacked UTÅKER Stackable Bed attracted the most attention. This is a practical product that is usually used as a sofa in the work room, but can be unfolded and used as a comfortable bed when guests are present.
Also, there was a hanger inside the door of the studio, and there were various necklaces collected from various sports events including marathons. It was as if they were telling their story.
To conclude, the couple left a comment that they regret not being able to introduce more IKEA products. They recommended decorating the house as they did with more than 9,000 products from IKEA.
