Can I adjust the length of the cord of my pendant lamp?

Some lamps come with clips or adjustable cords, but some do not. If your lamp does not have a clip or adjustable cord, you can shorten its cord by rolling it up inside a ceiling cup. However, it can be difficult to keep cords rolled up depending on their length, and packing a cord into a cup too tightly can cause it to become hot. IKEA recommends winding the cord of your lamp around the outside of a ceiling cup.
