My product breaks while taking it home or during assembly. What should I do?

Don't worry if your product breaks while you're taking it home or during assembly. If you're an IKEA Family member, we'll exchange it for free within 14 days of purchase. This service is subject to our return policy.

If you break a product while taking it home or assembling it, IKEA Family members can receive a free exchange within 14 days from the date of purchase. For an in-store exchange, please bring the following three items to the Returns counter at any IKEA store within the 14-day period. If you prefer an exchange by delivery, please contact our Customer Support Center at 050-4560-0494 (hours: 10:00–18:00).
  • The damaged product
  • Proof of purchase (e.g., receipt, delivery note for online orders, IKEA Family purchase history)
  • The IKEA Family card or card number used for the purchase
*The 14-day period is calculated as 14 days from the date of purchase (or delivery/pickup date).
*Eligible products are subject to the return policy. Outlet items, custom-made products, and food are not eligible for this service.
*Customers are responsible for any shipping fees related to the exchange.
