One wall kitchens

The saying, “ less is more” best describes this kitchen layout. A one wall, single wall, linear or straight kitchen layout, has all of the cabinets, worktops, and appliances arranged along one wall. This layout is perfect for small spaces, since all of the appliances, cooking utensils and work areas are within arm's reach.

What is a one wall kitchen layout?

A basic one wall kitchen (also called a single wall kitchen) has everything (kitchen cabinets, worktops & appliances) fixed along one wall while the remaining three sides of the kitchen are open to the rest of the living area.

How do you organise a single wall kitchen?

It's recommended to place the sink between the fridge and the hob/oven to create a more efficient workflow for food preparation. This is also to keep hot and cold areas separated, so the fridge freezer has space to dissipate heat.

Use your vertical space

Make the most of your one wall kitchen layout by using every inch of your wall from top to bottom. Using tall cabinets where possible and adding open shelving are great ways for maximising kitchen storage. Additionally, wall storage solutions such as wall rails with hooks and magnetic knife strips are a great at keeping your kitchen essentials within easy reach.

Add a kitchen island

If you have the space between your single wall kitchen and the rest of your living space then adding a kitchen island or kitchen trolley can mean a lot more storage and prep space.
