The cover is removable and can be machine washed. Divide the cover to make it easier to fit in the washing machine.

All of our mattresses can be used immediately, but keep in mind that a packaged mattress only regains its full shape and comfort after approximately 72 hours. Your body also needs a couple of weeks to adapt to the new mattress.
Sometimes the mattress has a noticeable smell when you open the packaging. The smell isn’t harmful or toxic and disappears over time. Airing and vacuuming the mattress helps to eliminate the smell faster.

So uncomfortable-do not purchase.EllieWe went out to try a new matress after having the most comfiest ikea matress previously for close to 10 years which had been discontinued. We tried this matress out in the medium firm and seemed ok but when we got it home it’s so much firmer. We’ve had it a month now and even bought an expensive thick mattress topper to work alongside it and still everyday waking with back pain. As it is now unfolded it’s impossible to return it without some sort of damage happening trying to fit it in a van etc…I would not recommend this if you are looking for a softer bed.1
