Our sustainability focus areas
The challenges we face including unsustainable consumption, climate change and nature loss, as well as rising inequality, all require urgent and bold action. Our sustainability work, which sets ambitions and commitments to reach by our financial year 2030, is organised into three focus areas:
Our three focus areas are:
- Healthy and sustainable living
- Climate, nature and circularity
- Fair and equal

Healthy and sustainable living
To make healthy and sustainable living affordable, attractive and accessible for as many people as possible, we offer home furnishing products, services and solutions that support a healthy and sustainable life at home as well a food range that supports healthy and sustainable eating. We’re also working to contribute to a shift in society where healthy and sustainable lifestyles become the default.

Climate, nature and circularity
Climate, nature and circularity are all interconnected. We are working to address them holistically, taking action to halve emissions from the IKEA value chain by FY30 on our way towards net zero by FY50, aiming to end our dependency on virgin, non-renewable materials and transitioning towards a circular business.

Fair and equal
We’re committed to being a responsible business and contributing to resilient societies. We play our part in contributing to a fair and equal society by respecting and promoting human rights across the value chain and contributing to resilient societies.
