You can always change your mind. Sometimes products bought for the home, office, or garden don't fit. Returning products is easy and hassle-free, regardless of how or where they were purchased. You can return all products to any department store through any channel. However, our planning studios in Jyväskylä and Oulu do not accept returns.
Save time with express returns – create an express return in advance and we will serve you faster through a separate queue at the IKEA store's customer service department.

14-day right of withdrawal
When you place an order by phone, through the IKEA app, or on IKEA.fi, you always have a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal. To exercise this right, you must inform us of your decision to cancel the order within 14 days of receiving the product. You can use the cancellation function or submit a free-form cancellation notice to IKEA customer service. The cancellation function can be found on the Return page or via the button below.
If you notify IKEA customer service using a free-form message through standard customer service channels, your notification must clearly state your intention to cancel the agreement. You may also cancel part of your order, in which case the cancellation applies only to the products you specify.
If you cancel your purchase and return the product, returns to an IKEA store or by post are free of charge. If you choose another return method, you are responsible for the return costs. Read more about return costs and service limitations on the 'How to return an IKEA product' page
If you cancel your order, the refund will always be issued using the same payment method used for the purchase. The refund processing time depends on your chosen payment method.
The 14-day right of withdrawal does not apply to products that have been used, soiled, stained, treated, damaged, incomplete, or modified.
365-day exchange and return policy
We want you to feel secure when doing business with us. Therefore, we offer a 365-day exchange and return policy as an extra safeguard for you if you change your mind. You can exchange or return an unopened, opened, and assembled but unused product that you have purchased, regardless of whether you bought it from our store, by phone, from our app, or from our website.
Upon return, you will receive your money back to the original payment method. Remember to bring your receipt or order confirmation. In addition, mattresses, duvets, and pillows have a separate 90-night trial right.
The return policy does not apply to used, dirty, stained, damaged, incomplete, or modified products.
Things to note: IKEA returns, IKEA refunds and IKEA exchanges
- When you return anything, please bring your receipt.
- We issue refunds in the payment form used to buy the product.
- Can’t find your receipt? If you have swiped your IKEA family-card, we will help you to locate the receipt.
- More than 365 days since you bought your product? You can still return it as part of our IKEA Second Hand service.
- If your product is damaged, you can file a claim at IKEA.
- We offer a free IKEA spare parts service as part of our commitment to prolonging product life. For IKEA Family members, our Oops-assurance covers accidental transportation or assembly damages and breakages.
The IKEA ‘Love it or exchange it’ policy
It is important to us that you sleep well on your new IKEA mattress, pillow, or duvet. When you buy an IKEA mattress, pillow, or duvet, you get an additional 90-night exchange policy and the opportunity to try the product. If you notice during this period that the new product is not good, you can contact us. Please note that it takes about a month for the body to get used to a new mattress.

Mattress Exchange with Delivery Service
- If you need help transporting your old and new mattress, you can use our delivery service.
- For a mattress exchange delivery, you will pay for both the delivery of the new mattress and the pickup of the returned product. The price for the transport return is the same as the Delivery to your address – carried inside service and is determined by the value of the returned products and your postal code.
- Register the transport return and create a new order for the new products on our website.
Things to note: IKEA mattress exchange
- You can exchange your mattress once within 90 nights.
- The only requirement is that the mattress must not be dirty, stained or damaged.
- The exchange right applies to all mattresses in our range.
- It’s normal for a new mattress to feel too firm at first, so give yourself about a month to get used to it.
- Choosing the right pillow is also important.
- Once you’ve found the perfect mattress for you, it comes with a 10‑year IKEA mattress guarantee.
- If you exchange your mattress for a more expensive one, you only pay the price difference between the new and the original mattress.
- If the new mattress is cheaper, we will refund the difference to an IKEA refund card.
Things to note: IKEA duvet or pillow exchange
- You can exchange your pillow or duvet once within 90 nights.
- The only requirement is that the pillow or duvet must not be dirty, stained, or damaged.
- The exchange right applies to all pillows and duvets in our range (excluding decorative cushions).
- We will refund the product’s price to a refund card, which you can use to purchase a new item.
- This exchange right is an additional benefit and does not affect your rights under consumer protection law.
