How accessible is IKEA?

You are very welcome at IKEA. We want everyone to be able to find their way easily – both in our stores and when using our digital services.

Accessibility is important to many people – both in our stores and when using digital services. Here, you can find an overview of what accessibility means at IKEA.
Accessibility in our stores

Are you planning a visit to IKEA and wondering how accessible our stores are? It’s important to us that you can find your way around easily and feel comfortable during your visit – no matter your individual needs.

At IKEA, we want everyone to feel welcome – including in our stores. That’s why we design our stores to be as accessible as possible and to support a wide range of needs.

This includes lifts and/or escalators, for example. We also provide wheelchairs if needed. Trained guide dogs and assistance dogs are welcome in our stores.

To create a more comfortable shopping experience, our IKEA stores also offer the Quiet Hour. The Quiet Hour is a special shopping time with fewer sensory stimuli – especially for people who are sensitive to noise or a high level of sensory input. For example, noise levels are reduced and the overall atmosphere is calmer.
Digital accessibility

When using our digital services, it is just as important to us that you can find your way easily. That is why we continuously work to make them accessible to as many people as possible.

We follow international standards for accessible digital content, such as the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). This helps us to improve our digital services step by step, with the aim of making them easy to use for as many people as possible.
