What can I do if my appliance is not working as it should?

If you notice a quality problem with your household appliance or it doesn't work as intended, you can report this directly to the manufacturer as long as the product is still within guarantee. If the appliance is made by IKEA itself, you can contact IKEA customer service online.

Product quality and safety are top priorities for IKEA, and all products are carefully tested before they are sold. In addition to the 2-year legal guarantee, IKEA therefore offers a 5-year warranty through the manufacturer for many appliances. By checking your order confirmation or receipt, you can donfirm if your product is still within guarantee. As an IKEA Family member, you can also check your purchase via your IKEA Family Account - if you used your IKEA Family card when shopping.  
Depending on the appliance and the issue, we recommend that you first check the user manual: It describes and explains the error codes in detail. If you don't have the user manuel at hand, you can find it on IKEA.de on the respective product page under "Product details" > "Assembly and Documents". 
If you've checked everything and your electrical appliance is still not working properly, the next steps will depend on who manufactured the appliance. You can find the manufacturer's name, model and serial number on the rating plate, which is usually located inside the device.  Or you can use our Manufacturer Search with the IKEA article number. Please note, this search is currently only available in German.

If your appliance was not manufactured by IKEA itself 

If the appliance was manufactured by an external vendor such as Whirlpool, Faber, or Electrolux, IKEA offers a 5-year warranty. Please contact the manufacturer directly, as their service partners are responsible for the repair. Make sure you have your IKEA proof of purchase, as well as the model and serial number details of their electrical appliance, ready when you reach out.

If your appliance was manufactured by IKEA 

If the appliance is an IKEA product such as TILLREDA or LAGAN, IKEA does not offer an extended 5-year warranty. These devices are covered by the 2-year legal guarantee.
For complaints within the two years, please contact IKEA Customer Service online. To do this, type "Make a claim" in the chat. Please have your bill or receipt ready. If you used your IKEA Family card when you made your purchase, you can also finde the proof of purchase in your IKEA Family Account under your purchases.  
 
The co-worker will check to gether with you whether the appliance will be exchanged or whether we can book an appointment with a technician for repair.
