A successful furniture facelift with wallpaper

Sure, your favourite dresser was nice. But in all this time it has taken a few scratches and lost a few corners... And its clean white look has become a bit shabby. Good news! You can give it a completely new look. And with style. All you need is some leftover wallpaper and an old leather belt.

Step 1

Clean and degrease the drawer fronts.

Step 2

Cut the wallpaper to the dimensions of the drawers. Feel free to combine pieces of different dimensions and patterns on the same drawer. Also vary the direction of the pattern from time to time.

Step 3

Using a small roller, apply vinyl adhesive to the fronts of the drawers.

Step 4

Glue different pieces of wallpaper. Continue until all the drawers are papered.

Step 5

Apply a fine coat of varnish for protecting the paper. Let it dry.

Step 6

Cut an old leather belt into 12 cm pieces. Make two holes in each piece using punch pliers.

Step 7

Indicate the locations of the handles and drill a hole into each drawer.

Step 8

Fold the pieces of leather in half and fasten them with a nut and bolt.

Tip

Choose several types of wallpaper, but nonetheless limit the colour palette. The goal is to get a result that’s both creative and harmonious.
