How to make a return at IKEA

We’ve simplified our IKEA return policy so that there are just three key things to remember about making a return to us. One: you have 365 days to do it, whether your product is new and packaged, or opened and assembled. Two: bringing your receipt smooths the process. Three: you can always return it to any IKEA store, no matter where you bought it.

We have detailed pages about the IKEA return policyIKEA guarantees and IKEA claims, to help you along the way.

Refunds for returned goods

Refund for online purchases

The amount will be credited to your account approximately 14 days after we receive and inspect the returned goods. The money will be refunded to you using the same payment method that was originally selected.

Refund for returns at an IKEA store

The amount will either be refunded immediately to a digital refund with three years validity or refund card with unlimited validity, which you can use immediately to purchase other goods, or by the same method that was originally used to pay for the goods (cash, bank account). If the original payment was made by debit/credit card, you will need to present the card to the terminal when requested by the Customer Service department employee. In this case, the refund is usually credited within 3 days.

Refunds via PPL Parcelshop

To return a product, drop off the securely packaged parcel at your chosen PPL Parcelshop after completing the return form (odkaz na to). The money will be refunded to you approximately 7 days after it is delivered to IKEA.

Refunds for claimed goods

Refund for online claims

If your claim is approved and results in a refund, we will agree with you on the refund method—you can choose between a digital refund card with three years validity, which will be sent to your email, or a refund using the same payment method originally selected. In both cases, the refund will be processed approximately 14 days after the claim is closed.

Refund for claims in person at an IKEA store

If your claim is approved, the amount will be refunded immediately to a digital refund with three years validity or refund card with unlimited validity, which you can use immediately to purchase other goods, or by the same method that was originally used to pay for the goods (cash, bank account refund). If the original payment was made by debit/credit card, you will need to present the card to the terminal when requested by the Customer Service department employee. In this case, the refund is usually credited within 3 days.

If you do not see the refunded amount in your account within 14 days, please contact us in person or via the chat available on the "Contact Us" page at the bottom right.
