Why are there no parking spaces at IKEA Vienna Westbahnhof?

Learn how the car-free concept at IKEA Vienna Westbahnhof works and which delivery and collection options are available.

IKEA Vienna Westbahnhof was designed as Austria’s first car-free IKEA store.
The concept intentionally focuses on public transport, cycling and walking instead of customer parking spaces.

WHY ARE THERE NO PARKING SPACES?

Together with the City of Vienna, the store was designed to better fit into the city centre and neighbourhood.
The focus is on:
✓ reducing car traffic in the city
✓ supporting sustainable mobility
✓ easy access by public transport, bicycle or on foot
✓ creating more public space instead of parking areas
Instead of a traditional parking lot, the building offers public green spaces and a rooftop terrace.

HOW DOES SHOPPING WORK WITHOUT A CAR?

The IKEA Vienna Westbahnhof assortment was adapted specifically for the city-store concept.
✓ smaller and portable items can be taken home directly
✓ larger furniture can be delivered conveniently
✓ alternative collection options are available

DELIVERY AND COLLECTION OPTIONS

IKEA offers several flexible solutions for larger purchases:
✓ home delivery
✓ Click & Collect
✓ collection from other IKEA locations and pick-up points
