Why is there a dip in my continental bed?

A continental bed consists of a mattress base, pocket mattress and mattress topper. The ESPEVÄR mattress base can be installed with or without the ENGAVÅGEN spring core. If there is a dip in the bed, it is usually because ESPEVÄR has been installed in the wrong way depending on whether the ENGAVÅGEN is used or not.

The first layer, or frame, of a continental bed is called the mattress base. To provide extra support for the body, it is possible to buy an elastic core that is mounted inside the mattress base.
When using the ENGAVÅGEN spring core, the slats should be mounted on the bottom level to make room for the spring core. If the slats are mounted on the lowest level without an elastic core, there will be a large dip in the bed because the mattresses will instead sink into the dip that is formed.
Therefore, start by checking that you have installed the ESPEVÄR mattress base correctly depending on whether you are using the ENGAVÅGEN or not.
