How do IKEA assembly services work?

With the assembly service from Hemfixarna, you can get professional help to assemble your IKEA products in your home. You can book assembly in department stores, online at the checkout on IKEA.se, or directly via Hemfixarna's website.

Here's how the assembly service works: 
  1. Book and pay for the assembly service from Hemfixarna in department stores or online through your shopping cart on IKEA.se. 
    When booking online:  
    a) Add your products to the shopping cart on IKEA.se.  
    b) Go to the shopping cart and add "Assembly/Installation Service" for the products.
    c) Click on "Read more" to find out more about how the installation service works.
    d) Select Date: Select a date for the delivery of the products and a date for the assembly service. Please note that the date for the assembly service is preliminary and that you will be contacted by Hemfixarna to determine the exact date and time.
    e) Select your payment method and complete your purchase. 

    Please note that you pay for the products and delivery to IKEA. Payment for the assembly service is made directly to Hemfixarna after the assembly has taken place.
     
    You can also add an assembly service after you place your order through our self-service tool Track and manage my order. You can also order an assembly service directly from Hemfixarna at any time via The website of Hemfixarna, even if you have already started assembling your product yourself. 
  2. Wait to be contacted by Hemfixarna. Once you have booked an assembly and chosen a preliminary date for the assembly service, Hemfixarna will contact you to determine the exact date and time for the assembly .
  3. Change or reschedule if necessary. If you need to reschedule or cancel your booked assembly service by Hemfixarna, and have a day and time booked, you need to contact Hemfixarna directly on 0770 220 720. If you want to cancel, you need to do it at least 3 hours before the booked time, otherwise you may be charged for an extra start-up cost. Read more in Hemfixarna's general terms and conditions.
  4. Prepare for the visit. Leave your unassembled products in their original packaging and place the packages in the room where you want them to be assembled, making sure that the room is a safe place for the installer to carry out the assembly. Find more information on how to prepare for your visit to IKEA.se.
  5. Hemfixarna will arrive at your home or office to complete the assembly on the agreed date and time. Please note that packaging recycling is not included. If removal of packaging is desired, this can be ordered in connection with Hemfixarna's booking call for a fixed price.
