What VAT rate do you have on your products?

VAT is a tax that we all pay when we buy goods and services. VAT is included in the price and is not something that you as a private person need to think about. IKEA complies with tax rules and charges 25% VAT for all products. Exceptions apply to food in restaurants that have a VAT rate of 12% and books and food you take home that have a VAT rate of 6%. As a business customer, you shop with us including VAT.

VAT (value added tax) is a state tax that is added to the price when you buy goods and services in Sweden. For you as a private individual, VAT is already included in our prices - so you don't have to calculate or add anything yourself. This makes it easy to know exactly what you're paying.
IKEA complies with current tax rules and therefore applies a VAT rate of 25% to most products in our range. However, some goods and services have reduced VAT:
  • 12% Applies to food sold in our restaurants and bistros.
  • 6% Applies to books and food you take home.
If you shop as a business customer, all sales are made including VAT, and you handle the deductions yourself according to your company's procedures.
