What are the soft toys in the SANDLÖPARE collection made of?
The soft toys in the IKEA SANDLÖPARE collection are made of 100% recycled materials* – including the filling, fabrics, threads, and reinforcements.
The soft toys in the SANDLÖPARE collection are not only charming and cuddly – they’re also kind to our planet. Each little friend is made from 100 percent recycled materials*, from the soft fabric to the thread that holds everything together, and even the filling and internal reinforcements.
Before they get to move into your home, they go through a seriously tough school! They’re rigorously tested – pulled, washed over and over again, and examined to ensure they’re free from harmful substances. All so you can hug them safely, again and again, without them losing their lovely shape.
Since 1997, all IKEA soft toys have embroidered eyes instead of beads. What started as a safety measure ended up improving the design. The embroidered eyes also give the toys a much livelier expression.
*Exceptions: Chimpanzee soft toy (99.84 percent) and monkey with baby soft toy (99.91 percent), due to small hook-and-loop parts.
