Why doesn't IKEA serve alcoholic beverages?

IKEA stopped selling beer and wine in the restaurants when the demand was low. Instead, we focus on offering good, affordable food and a range of drinks that suits the many people.

Our goal is always to give you as a guest a really nice experience, with good and affordable food and a range of drinks that suits most people. For a period of time, we tried to offer beer and wine, but when the interest turned out to be limited, we chose to end the sale of alcoholic beverages.
We are constantly developing our range to meet our guests' needs in the best way. An exception is IKEA Gallerian in Stockholm, where we offer beer, wine and bubbly as a complement for guests who want something extra with their food. The range there is adapted to what exactly those visitors demand, rather than it being a large sales product.
