Can I deviate from IKEA's assembly instructions or make my own changes to my IKEA product?

We always recommend that you follow the assembly instructions for your own safety and the safety of others. There is also a risk that the product does not meet your expectations or cannot be used correctly. If you choose to do something different from what is stated in the instructions, it may mean that you cannot use any right of complaint and warranty.

If you deviate from the assembly instructions from IKEA, you may expose yourself and others to a safety risk, but also risk that the product does not meet your expectations or can be used correctly.
So if you choose to deviate from our advice and instructions, this is done entirely on your own initiative. This includes if it is stated in the assembly instructions that your new IKEA furniture needs to be wall-anchored with anti-tip protection.
