The dream wedding for less (a lot less)
We definitely aren’t the kinds of people who prescribe to the more is more philosophy. In fact, we’re firm believers that with a bit of creativity (and some advice from our super stylists, like Lina), even life’s biggest events will look just as good on a budget.
Thinking of renting tables for the big day? Don’t bother! Just line up whatever tables you have at home to make one long seating area. It doesn’t matter if they aren’t all the same size or shape, this just adds to the charm. And while you’re at it, don’t forget the rugs (we used six for this seating area).
This quiet little nook isn’t just a calm spot where family and friends can take a bit of time to sign the guest book with well-wishes. It’s also a perfect place to take photos throughout the day.
We customised the special couple’s chairs by cutting two pieces of wood (each should fit snugly between the slats in the back), wrapping them in a bit of padding and then a simple, cotton cover. Stitched with their initials, of course.
Remember what we said about making the most of what you’ve got? Forget the fancy linens and sew together crisp, clean kitchen towels to make a table runner. Another way to keep costs down is to opt for understated succulents and water plants (which we added to vases filled with water to create centerpieces). Add a few fun items like confetti, cocktail stirrers and straws to the folded napkins for guests to use during the evening.
We love to see our customers get creative with our products. Go for it! But please note that altering or modifying IKEA products so they can no longer be re-sold or used for their original purpose, means the IKEA commercial guarantees and your right to return the products will be lost.
