Business Acceleration Initiative with New Ventures and Ikea Social Entrepreneurship
“Mexico Accelerator Program” is the new initiative created by IKEA Social Entrepreneurship, IKEA Mexico and New Ventures, which aims to scale up Mexican enterprises that seek to create a more equitable, inclusive and sustainable society among vulnerable communities in the country.
Each year, 10 social enterprises are selected to enter the program for one year and integrate a social component into their objectives so that they can make alliances in the future with large supply chains.
In addition to the incredible networking opportunities, training and access to seed capital, entrepreneurs receive mentoring in 3 main areas:
- KPI Mentor: Our 3 mentors specialized in acceleration and business strategy receive a personalized diagnosis of each company, and during the program they support the entrepreneurs to reach their acceleration goals and solve their bottlenecks.
- IKEA Co-workers: IKEA Mexico employees, committed with social impact, offer one-on-one mentoring to entrepreneurs on topics such as finance, marketing, supply chains, etc. This experience helps entrepreneurs gain new insights in order to continue scaling their business.
- Sustainable Minds Network: New Ventures, as a partner company, has more than 15 years of experience in the entrepreneurship system. Thanks to this, entrepreneurs can access mentoring focused on raising capital, the challenges that entrepreneurs face, or topics on partnerships with other stakeholders.
The call for applications is issued in June-July each year and the 10 candidates selected start their program at the end of October. The company with the highest growth and best value proposition earns up to USD $50,000 in seed capital.
