The keep-it-simple kitchen

Life was already big and busy, even before the arrival of their baby. This couple’s advice? Don’t make things complicated. No space embodies this better than their kitchen: a calm and inviting space equipped with little more than the essentials. Pulled together with organised storage and more sustainable materials in mind, it has everything they need to cook easy meals, grab a quick snack, or pause for a well-earned tea break.

Calm versus chaos

What do a well-organised drawer and a freshly-steeped cup of afternoon tea have in common? They're both small details that make every day a little calmer and simpler for these two new, busy parents. In this kitchen, a ready-to-nibble snack is as easy to find as a quiet moment by a sunny window. Happiness!

Out of sight, out of mind

A busy environment can be overwhelming, so this couple keeps most of their appliances, utensils and food items hidden from view. A full wall of anthracite cabinets and drawers pack it all away neatly, with fronts made from recycled materials.

What makes bamboo so brilliant?

It’s strong, durable and beautiful. It’s also quick and easy to grow in a wide range of climates, and requires little fertilising or irrigation. From chopping boards to kitchen fronts, this kitchen is full of bamboo products with surprisingly low price tags.
