7 ways to set up a vanity station

The best place to get ready to face the day is where it suits you. Bypass the bathroom and its morning bottlenecks by setting up a vanity station in your bedroom or even the hallway. It doesn’t have to take up lots of space. Start with a good light and a clear mirror – the rest is down to your imagination. These 7 vanity stations ideas are here for inspiration.

1. Linger for longer at this dressing table

Here’s a showstopper of a vanity station that is ready for more than just your makeup! The white TONSTAD desk pops against the vibrant wall colour and natural hues of wood and rattan, creating a cool boho look. Simple desk organisers make an easy job of organising your makeup and the desk drawer takes care of everything else. With its stylish mirror, comfy chair and relaxed spirit, it’s also a perfect me-corner, a place where you can chill out with a cup of tea and take stock of the day’s events.

2. In a small space all you need is a shelf – or a pegboard!

Who said you need a table for your vanity station? A small shelf or a SKÅDIS pegboard paired with a mirror can do the job perfectly when space is limited. Oganise your beauty products in a mix of containers so they look nice on the shelf or pegboard. Add a hook or two on the pegboard to make room for a few choice pieces of jewellery and finish with some focused lighting. Your daily glam-up routine is nailed!

3. Turn your chest of drawers into a vanity table

Give a chest of drawers a new lease of life by transforming the top into a dressing table. Keep the look simple and personal with a few choice objects on the surface, then organise the rest of your make up and accessories in small storage boxes in the drawers. Decorate the wall above your chest of drawers with a large mirror and you’re ready to go when it’s time for your beauty routine.

4. No space? Pop it up on the windowsill!

Not got any room to create a freestanding vanity station? Take a fresh look at your windowsill! Place a magnifying mirror on top to bring a super-compact vanity station into being. Great for doing your make-up in natural light, or a small spotlight will deal with any less-than-perfect lighting scenarios. Keep your beauty products handy on a trolley that can be wheeled out of the way when their services are no longer required.

5. Bedside table double-function finesse

Bedside table by night, vanity station by day! Breathe new life into your bedside table when you’re out of bed by giving it a starring role in your daily glam-up. With the right furniture and accessories it can blend in perfectly with your bedroom style and do both jobs perfectly. At night, swing the lamp over for cosy bedtime reading.

This elegant GRÅFJÄLLET vanity station with an integrated mirror has it all – style, functionality and convenience. It fits easily into your bedroom – or hallway – and will be admired wherever it lands. The integrated mirror means you don’t have to worry about putting one on the wall, a great help if you’re living in a rental where drilling into the walls is difficult. And if having lots of beauty products on show is too much of a stretch, it’s got a handy drawer that will keep them neatly hidden away.

7. Forget the bedroom. Go straight to the hallway!

A mirror (or two), good lighting and a little space for storage can be worked into almost any hallway solution. Hey presto, you have a handy vanity table just where you need it when you’re heading out for the day.
