      Poor Quality Control: Lid Does Not Fit for Proper SealAnonymous reviewerThe lid only appears to fit. It was only after use for some time that I came to notice that one whole side does not completely touch the container flush, so it does not close completely. Of course, most signficantly, it does not provide the vacuum sealing it’s supposed to. The reason for this defect is the bamboo: it’s just slightly curved. However, it’s so slight that it’s all too easy to miss in sight and usage. Unfortunately, IKEA policy won’t allow for a return or replacement at this point as the original packaging is no longer attached to the lid. Crucially and frustratingly, it’s only through the usage—and very attentive usage—of this product, and thus the necessary removal of the original packaging, would one even notice the defect. Even then, many would understandably not understand what is causing the lid problem, as was the case with myself for weeks, as the curvature can be so slight.1

      What is bamboo?

      Strong, flexible and one of the world's fastest growing plants – bamboo has many uses that make it an excellent renewable material. It’s a type of grass and usually grows without the need for fertilizers or irrigation. After being harvested, it grows new shoots that are ready for harvesting after 4-6 years. At IKEA we use bamboo for items like furniture, bathroom decor, baskets and lamps – and we are constantly exploring more areas of use for this versatile material.
