Parcel delivery

Parcel delivery is a home delivery service for relatively small-sized products to your home or another specified address. The delivery fee depends on the size of the products, the delivery area, your chosen delivery time slot and the way you receive your order.
IKEA Family members can enjoy a more affordable delivery fee under the same conditions.

How to check your final delivery fee

Add the items to your cart, enter the delivery address postal code on the checkout page, and select your preferred delivery date, time slot and whether you want contactless delivery. The final delivery fee based on these conditions will then be shown automatically.

For online purchases, the delivery fee shown on the checkout page will apply.
If you apply for parcel delivery at an IKEA store, please ask a staff member in the sales area.

About delivery date and time

  • Date can be specified within 3 to 7 days from the date of order (depending on delivery area and congestion)
  • Delivery time can be specified (depending on delivery area and congestion)
  • Contactless delivery available

Conditions

  • The above rates only apply if the total of the three sides of the entire product fits within 160 cm, depending on the size.
  • Maximum 20 kg per box
  • If the above conditions are exceeded, Truck delivery will be applied.

Truck delivery

Truck delivery is a home delivery service for large products such as beds, sofas and storage furniture to your home.

Delivery fee

There are two types of truck delivery: one for relatively compact large products, and one for larger items such as beds and sofas.

The delivery fee varies depending on the delivery type and delivery area, but IKEA Family members can enjoy a lower delivery fee than the standard rate in all areas.

For compact large products (front-door hand-over only)

*The following is an example of the delivery fee in the main area.
*Even outside the main area, IKEA Family members receive a ¥1,000 discount.

If your order meets the size conditions below and the delivery address is within the eligible area, the delivery fee for compact large products will be applied automatically.

Per order (1 order): volume up to 0.17 m³, weight up to 40 kg
Per item: one side up to 170 cm, volume up to 0.14 m³, weight up to 30 kg

Delivery is to your front door only. If you would like the items to be carried into your room, the “for large products such as beds and sofas” delivery option will apply.
If your order exceeds these conditions, truck delivery “for large products such as beds and sofas” will apply.

For large products such as beds and sofas

Note for customers considering large items

If you are thinking about purchasing large-size furniture such as Sofa/Mattress/PAX Wardrobe, etc., please note that large package products may not pass through narrow doors or stairs to your room. Please check the package size and delivery route before purchasing.

How to use the service

<Online Store>

Please enter the required information from the shopping cart and proceed to payment. The price will be automatically calculated according to the size, weight, and delivery address of the purchased items.
If you have a coupon, please enter it in the shopping cart.

<IKEA store>

At IKEA stores, please ask the staff before you pick up your items. It is convenient to write down the product name and number of the item you want to buy first.

Important notes

  • Delivery service is not available in some areas such as remote islands.
  • Foods and plants are not eligible. 
  • Your purchase is considered either parcel or truck delivery depending on the volumne of your purchase automatically.  Delivery fee is caluculated by the volume, weight, purchase amount.
  • For truck delivery to Hokkaido, an additional fee of ¥1,000 will be added to the delivery fee.
  • For some areas, truck delivery is available only on weekends (Sat., Sun. and public holidays), and weekend delivery fees will apply in those cases as well.
  • If a change to the delivery date/time or delivery method results in a difference in the delivery fee, the difference will not be refunded.
  • Delivery fee discount applies only for IKEA Family and IKEA Business Network members. Show your membership number at the store or login to shop online.
  • Contactless delivery is not available for truck delivery.
  • Please be sure to let us know at the time of order if you wish to have it delivered to your room or at your front door. We do not accept changes after payment has been made.
  • If you choose delivery to your room, our delivery staff will bring the items to the room you specify. Please inform the delivery staff of the product number and room.
  • Before purchasing, please make sure to check the package size and the delivery route to your room.
  • If you check the delivery route yourself in advance and find that delivery is likely to be difficult, you can request a pre-visit (site inspection, paid) or lifting work (paid) from the store or the Contact Centre.
  • If you find in advance that delivery by a standard vehicle is likely to be difficult due to height limits in your apartment or building car park, or vehicle restrictions such as narrow roads, you can request a pre-visit (site inspection, paid) from the store or the Contact Centre.
  • If it turns out that delivery by a standard vehicle is difficult due to height limits or vehicle restrictions without prior notice, we may need to arrange delivery on another day with a different vehicle (paid) or by a different delivery method such as lifting work (paid). If we judge that delivery is too difficult, your order will be cancelled.
  •  Delivery is carried out by our partner delivery companies, and transportation is subject to the terms and conditions set by each delivery company.
  • You can check the package size of each product on the back of the product tag, on the IKEA website or on the product page in the IKEA app.
  • For corporate customers placing large-volume orders, a separate quotation may be required depending on the delivery conditions at the site. For details, please ask the IKEA for Business representative when you place your order. Please note that individual postal codes assigned to businesses are not supported for delivery.
  • When you purchase products through the IKEA online store or the IKEA app and request delivery, there are conditions for placing orders regarding the price, quantity and content of the products. For details, please refer to Article 3, Paragraph 4 of the “IKEA Terms and Conditions for Sale of Products (Online Shopping Services)

About redelivery

If you would like redelivery when using the delivery service for large furniture, please contact the Customer Support Centre.

*Redelivery will be available from the third day after the day you contact us. During busy periods, it may take longer to arrange redelivery.

Others

<Limited service from IKEA store purchase>

For outlet products that do not include original product packaging, an additional packing fee will be charged. Outlet product packing price ¥2,500/ per item
Please apply for this service together with large-item delivery (delivery to your room). Delivery of outlet products is limited to main delivery areas only. Some products cannot be delivered.

Items Not Eligible for Delivery
・Products that include glass or ceramics (Delivery is possible if the glass portion is taken home by the customer.)
・Products whose total dimensions (length + width + height) exceed 380 cm (Delivery is possible if the customer disassembles the item beforehand.)
・Products marked as Reuse Items, scrap materials, plants, or food items (We ask for your cooperation in taking small items home yourself.)
・Products that cannot maintain structural strength when assembled for delivery (e.g., bed frames)


Various pick-up services

By picking up your items yourself, you can significantly save on service fees.
Using Click & collect (store pickup) also helps you save time, as you do not need to search for the products in the large store.

Collect at IKEA Pick-up point (For large furniture)

IKEA delivers to the IKEA Pick-up point near you, and you carry it to home. This is a significant cost saving compared to regular Truck deliveries.

Collect at IKEA Pick-up point (For small items)

You can now pick up small items at Sagawa Express offices. This is an even more affordable choice to small item delivery to your home.

Click and collect

You can save a lot of shopping time by ordering “store pickup” in our online store before you come to our store.
