How do I use the furniture Buyback service?
First, use the "Online Appraisal Tool" to find out the purchase price of IKEA products that you no longer need. Within 30 days of receiving the assessment, please bring the product to your nearest IKEA store. Check the condition of the product in the store and provide the final purchase price. You will then receive an IKEA return card that can be used in the online store or in the store.
Here is the process from applying for Buyback service to the final buy-back of your product. You must apply in advance via the website. We cannot buy back items brought directly to the store without a prior application.
- Calculate the product's value
Decide which product you want to sell. Please check the list of eligible products to see which items can be bought back. You can apply for up to 9 items per valuation request. Next, use the online valuation tool to check the buy-back price of your unwanted IKEA product.
IKEA Family members get an additional 10% on the buy-back service.

If you were unable to enter your Family member number when applying, please perform the estimate again by entering your Family number. - Receive the valuation amount
Please check your email for the valuation amount and a reference number for the procedure. The issued reference number is valid for 30 days. - Bring it to an IKEA store
Within 30 days of receiving the valuation, please bring the valuation reference number, the fully assembled product, and your identification to the 1F Returns counter of the IKEA store you applied to.

*To receive the return card charged with the buy-back amount, we are required to verify your identity in accordance with the Secondhand Articles Dealer Act. (Japanese driver's license/passport/health insurance card/residence card/other official photo ID).
- If the buy-back product cannot be removed from the room, we ask that you disassemble it yourself, bring it to the store, and then reassemble it. The furniture buy-back service is limited to assembled products. If you bring it disassembled, we ask that you assemble it yourself at the store.
- We cannot accept items brought to a store other than the one you applied to. Please reapply. Please note that products cannot be returned to you after the buy-back is complete. - Assessment and final price offer
At the store's customer service area, a co-worker will check the product's condition and offer a final buy-back price. The conditions for eligible products are as follows:
- Be in good, resalable condition
- Be on the list of eligible products
- Have all original parts and be fully functional
- Be brought in fully assembled
- Be clean and unmodified
All valuations are subject to an in-person inspection by a co-worker at your desired IKEA store. Therefore, the final buy-back amount may differ from the online valuation if discrepancies are found during the inspection. Please understand that we cannot agree to the buy-back until a co-worker has confirmed that the product is an IKEA product and is in resalable condition. The price offered by the co-worker is not negotiable, and we reserve the right to refuse the buy-back of any product at our discretion. - Receive an IKEA Return Card
We will give you an IKEA Return Card for the agreed amount. This card can be used to buy something you need or love, either online or in-store. The return card is valid for 3 years from the date of issue but cannot be used at the Bistro.
The return card will only be given to the applicant in person. It cannot be given to anyone else. Due to identity verification procedures under the Secondhand Articles Dealer Act, the person who applied for the service must come to the store. If you wish to have someone else receive the return card, that person must reapply for the service themselves. - Give the product a new life
All products in good condition will be resold in the store's Circular Market.
