A bedroom air purifier brings a breath of fresh air to your slumber

All over the world, people are affected by bad air quality, and it’s not only connected to bad outdoor air, says Henrik Telander, who has worked with STARKVIND and our other air quality products.

“Many of the things we do at home, like cooking and tidying with cleaning products, can leave different particles and pollutants in the indoor air. Another problem can be pollen or other outdoor air pollutants that come in via our ventilation. All these can be absorbed and filtered with the help of an air purifier.”

While breathing cleaner air can be helpful for your overall health and wellbeing, the benefits of an air purifier in the bedroom extend to better sleep for many. This is especially true for allergy-sufferers who wake up throughout the night sneezing from pollen, dust or dander in the air, and deal with the effects of that poor sleep the next day. Here’s hoping for less sneeze and more zzz’s!

Your air is purified and optimized for snoozing, so what’s next? It’s time to learn more about the other five components that can help you get a great night’s sleep every night!

Where should I place my air purifier in my bedroom?

With a small air purifier for bedroom use, it can be helpful to place the purifier closest to the potential allergen source. For example, if you’re most concerned about pollen or pollution from traffic creeping inside but want to leave your window open a bit, position the air purifier near the window so it can filter the air more readily. Just be mindful it isn’t placed anywhere it could potentially get wet if it begins to rain.

Also consider your sleep sound preferences. Do you need things as quiet as possible when sleeping, or are soothing sounds a welcome addition to your bedtime routine that helps lull you to sleep? If you lean toward calming sounds for sleep, consider placing your bedroom air purifier on your nightstand or other location near your bed. While all of our air purifiers for bedroom are quiet during operation, you may enjoy the gentle sound that is reminiscent of a fan.

How long to run an air purifier in your bedroom is entirely up to you. If you are very sensitive to air pollutants, you may choose to run it continuously so it doesn’t have to play ‘catch up’ at bedtime. If you prefer to conserve energy and only run it while you sleep, read the product details to determine how much time is needed for it to purify your size bedroom. You can then make it part of your bedtime routine to switch it on while winding down so the air is fully refreshed by the time you’re ready to close your eyes.
