FAQ – IKEA Buyback Service

At IKEA, we've always offered services that make everyday life easier and more sustainable for our customers. This approach helps us move towards our goal of becoming a more circular business and help prolong products’ life.  We want to make sustainable living easy, accessible and affordable for everyone. 

This service enables us to help customers prolong their furniture’s life. We buy back our customers' pre-loved IKEA furniture in return for an IKEA voucher. These items are then available for resale in our As-Is area. 

On our website, you will first complete the Buyback quotation form. This form will ask you questions about the condition of the IKEA furniture you would like to sell back. Once you complete the form, you will receive an email with your preliminary quotation. 

Please choose either our pickup service or drop off your fully assembled furniture at IKEA Amman – Airport Road through the Returns & Exchange. Have a copy of your quotation ready. 

The Buyback Service is currently available at IKEA Amman – Airport Road.

You will first need to fill out the online form and receive a quotation in order to sell back your furniture before coming into the store.

Once you have completed the form, you will receive an email with your quotation and unique Buyback number

At IKEA, we have always offered a range of services to make our customers’ lives easier and more sustainable. All products are reviewed based on condition, and functionality. However, if our assessment of your IKEA product does not match with the information you provided on the online form or you’re not happy with our online or in-store Buyback offer, there is no requirement to continue with the Buyback transaction. We can also help you recycle it or dispose of it responsibly. 

Unfortunately, the offered price is not open to negotiations as it is a fixed offer based on the condition of the item and the original selling price. 

You can shop for pre-owned IKEA furniture in the As-Is department at IKEA Amman – Airport Road.

Products we accept (the below IKEA products ONLY)The specific IKEA products that are eligible for Buyback are not listed here but will include the following:

• Chest of drawers and bedside tables
• Bookcases, shelving units
• Display cabinets and sideboards
• Office storage
• Small tables and dining tables
• TV benches and media storage units
• Desks
• Chairs and stools (excluding upholstered or leather chairs and stools)
• Children’s furniture (cots, bed frames, storage, tables, chairs and stools)
• Table and floor lights
• Plant pot stands and indoor pots
• Home decoration products (artificial plants, vases & bowls, mirrors, picture frames & picture ledges)

At the moment, we cannot accept products in the following categories. However, we're continuously developing our services, so please check back for future updates.

• Non-IKEA products
• Component parts
• Hacked or modified products
• Non-assembled IKEA products
• Products that have been used outside, including outdoor furniture
• Upholstered Beds (excluding extendable children's beds)
• Mattresses & bed textiles (such as blankets and mattress toppers)
• Sofas/armchairs
• Other soft goods (pillows, towels, curtains, etc.)
• Kitchens including worktops, cabinets and fronts
• System wardrobes (incl. PAX and interiors)
• Other over-sized items
• Appliances and other electrical items
• Children's mattresses and textiles
• Upholstered or leather product
• Bathroom accessories
• Cookware and tableware
• Rugs
• Artificial flowers

Don’t worry, if we do not accept your used IKEA product for Buyback, you can keep it, or we will help you recycle it or dispose of it responsibly.

At IKEA, we're always exploring ways to help the things we love last longer. By giving your furniture a new home and a new life, we hope to make sustainable living a practical choice for everyone.

All products are assessed based on their condition and functionality. You can submit the form on our website. Once submitted, you will receive a confirmation email. Within the confirmation email, you will receive an initial quote based on the information you provided. 

A co-worker will review your product with your quotation in-person to confirm the condition. Please note that the initial quotation is subject to change following an inspection by our co-workers. Our co-workers also have the right to reject the product if it does not meet the criteria.

The Buyback & Resell service is available for personally used IKEA furniture only. The furniture must be fully assembled and functional. IKEA cannot accept any products that have been hacked, modified, or altered in any way. 

Products that have been recalled are not eligible for Buyback.

A modified or "hacked" product is when a product is not assembled as per the assembly instructions, and extra modifications have been made to it. For example, products being cut or reshaped differently from the provided instructions or products that have been painted. If you are unsure whether you have a modified product or not, please contact our customer service team.

To use our Buyback & Resell service, you must provide products with no modifications made to them in order for our team to ensure your pre-loved item is safe for the next owner.

No, we don't accept any modified or painted products through our Buyback service. 

At this time, we are currently accepting a limited range of IKEA products, as listed on the form.  If the product is not listed on the form, unfortunately we cannot accept it. However, we are always looking for new opportunities to improve our services so do check back in the future.

Yes. Home collection is available for the Buyback & Resell Service. This service is available for IKEA Amman – Airport Road and is subject to a home collection fee of JOD 15.

Once we've agreed to buy back your product, you'll receive an IKEA voucher that can be used to shop for your favourite products at IKEA Amman – Airport Road.

The voucher is valid for 6 months from the date of issue.

Please note that it cannot be used at the IKEA Restaurant, Bistro, Swedish Food Market, the As-Is department, or on the IKEA website.
