IKEA recalls certain outdoor LED lighting chains and lamps
IKEA recalls certain outdoor LED lighting chains and lamps with a non-compliant plug from the product families LEDLJUS, SOMMARLÅNKE, STRÅLA, SVARTRÅ and UTSUND
IKEA urges all customers who own the affected outdoor LED lighting chains and lamps from the product families LEDLJUS, SOMMARLÅNKE, STRÅLA, SVARTRÅ and UTSUND to stop using them and contact IKEA. Due to a manufacturing error, the plug of these products does not fulfil a relevant safety standard, resulting in the risk of electric shock. Affected products can be identified via name of the LED-driver, date stamp of the LED-driver, and name of the plug (all details below).

Why are these products not safe to use?
Safety is a top priority for IKEA and therefore we are recalling certain outdoor LED lighting chains and lamps from the product families LEDLJUS, SOMMARLÅNKE, STRÅLA, SVARTRÅ and UTSUND as the plug of these products does not fulfill a relevant safety standard, resulting in the risk of electric shock. During their development, IKEA products are risk assessed and thoroughly tested to make sure that our products comply with applicable requirements and regulation on all markets where IKEA operates. Despite this it has come to our attention that a certain plug used for the above-listed products does not comply with a relevant safety standard for limiting water ingress due to a manufacturing error. Therefore, all IKEA outdoor LED lighting chains and lamps that include the affected plug are being recalled. Affected products can be identified via name of the LED-driver (ICPSH24-2-IL-1), date stamp (YYWW – see all affected date stamps in list above) of the LED-driver, and name of the plug (SYK-02F). Products with other LED-drivers, other date stamps and another plug are not in scope of this recall.
What should customers do?
Customers who own one of the affected products should immediately stop using it and contact IKEA for a replacement product or a full refund. Additionally, IKEA encourages customers to spread the word about this recall, especially if they know that the recalled product was offered, lent or sold to someone else.
