squeeking problem quick fixGordonIve noticed some peoples bed sqeeked mine did. I fixed it by tearing an old sheet into four, 3 inch wide strips that run the leangth of the inner bed frame and taped 3 of them to the inside side and middle metal frame parts then laying slats on top of that, so wood is not touching the metal. for middle bar, when laying slats in and where the slats meet on middle bar i jammed another strip of sheet verticaly between them so the wood slat ends are not touching each other, the sheet/cloth sandwiched between them. sqeeking stopped. I found the sqeeking was caused by the middle wooden slats rubbing against each other. so using anything soft to stop the middle slats ends touching each other should work Its not an ideal fix, but it works. Hope this helps someone. Sweet dreams :)
Nice bed but squeaksGordonHi. Nice bedframe but started squeaking after a week, re tightend all the bolts, was fine for two nights and started sqeaking again.
It is not possible for the bolts to be tightend any further, so nothing to be done now about the squeaking every time you move in bed.
looking for a new frame now, bit of a waste of money at the end of the day. Its a shame as its a nice frame.
Nice bed frameKarenBed frame is fine and looks nice but my existing Ikea Hamnvik double mattress is too big! A bit annoying as it has a 25yr guarantee and I expected to use it for a few more years. ( it is in a guest room) Now I have to buy a new mattress which is such a waste. I would have thought a standard double has a standard size. So if you don’t need a new mattress, double check the size.
