Very sturdy kitchen island/tableMattThe table is surprisingly sturdy and robust. The wooden top is quite thick and heavy. Looks like a high-end kitchen island. And fairly easy to assemble. 5
Nice piece, instructions and machining horrificEoinThis piece looks great, but I can only assume that either the people giving super positive reviews either had it pre assembled, or have more expertise in assembling than me (I would rate my own skills in this as medium). The instructions provided just completely miss some steps that are definitely necessary, and they totally fail to provide clarity on which pieces need to be at which side of the island (this meant I had to re-do multiple steps). A lot of these problems can be traced to IKEA's unwillingness to provide any written instructions at all to supplement their diagrams - always a bad idea, but this case is the worst ever. Lastly, the tolerances on this are SO disappointing - the drawers simply DO NOT fit under the bench top on my unit unless the connection between the wood and steel is loosened significantly, and even then it's a poor fit. Furthermore having to screw in screws with my hands scraping against stupidly placed pieces of metal is an experience I hope not to repeat.3

Ikea RimforsaBronaghIf you have an L shaped kitchen and have a 'nothing' wall space opposite (a brand new kitchen ain't cheap!) then the Rimforsa is an excellent way to use the space practically and make it a U shaped kitchen. I use this to add good, sturdy storage for a variety of items from large pots/pans to veggie storage and drawers to hold tea-towels and less used utensils etc. Its fab, it cleans easily and the extra worktop space is appreciated at breakfast/lunch/dinner time. It's neutral materials also mean it will tie in easily with any kitchen colour/style ;)5

What is bamboo?
