Good stuff and good price.SuéllenI needed a bit of space in my bedroom, so I went for this bed and I’m delighted with my choice. It was a bit tricky to put together, as I found the manual lacked clarity in parts, so it took us longer than expected. One of the screws also didn’t seem to fit properly, but it wasn’t a big deal as there were three others in the same area. Overall, I’m really happy with my new bed and the new mattress I picked up at IKEA as well.4

Very bad assembly experience / instructions / material qualityUmutUnfortunately, my experience with both the assembly instructions and the overall product quality has been extremely disappointing. Moreover, the substandard quality of the product has become evident as the ottoman bed has sustained damage due to what appears to be manufacturing defects. The structural integrity of certain components is compromised, making the bed less sturdy than expected. This not only raises concerns about the safety of its everyday use but also diminishes the overall aesthetic appeal of the furniture. I am extremely disappointed with the quality control measures in place, as it is evident that this product did not meet the standards expected of Ikea. I believe that as a customer, I deserve a product that not only lives up to its reputation but also meets the basic requirements of durability and functionality.1

MALM fits well tight roomsMarcinYou will need at least a 10sqm room to move around freely. Its a good quality and easy to assemble as most IKEA products. The standard double will serve well for two average hight/weight people. I’m 184cm high and it feels little bit too short, its a compromise for small rooms though. The lifted frame is a blessing, gives plenty of room for storage.4

Extra storage that won't take up extra space

MALM ottoman bed lets you turn the space you already use for sleeping into a smart place for storing. The gas piston and spring system make it easy and safe to open and close the bed without putting strain on your back. And that means you don't have to be super strong to get some super storage.

Material

What is constructed board?

We use constructed boards when manufacturing many of our pieces of furniture, such as tables and wardrobes. They are light yet still stable and strong. Each board has a frame made of chipboard, fibreboard or solid wood, while the inside is a honeycomb filling structure made of mostly recycled paper, which is extra durable thanks to its special construction. The board is then covered with a protective paint, foil or veneer depending on the style wanted.
