good, but short livedChrisI really like this pan, I have cooked pretty much every other day with it for about a year. I have made steaks, currys, stews and rouxs. I have fried bacon, potatoes, various veg and rice dishes. It works really well. But it's just shy of 1 year old and now it needs to be replaced. We've never used metal utilities on it, never scrubbed it with anything harder than a scrub daddy, but the middle of the pan is now stick central to everything we cook, regardless if temperature, oil, butter or any other lubricant. So looks like to me that this pan just doesn't have much of a shelf life even when well cared for. For the price, and for all the excellent meals I have cooked in it, I can't really fault it. A good pan, but it will need to be replaced if used often.4

What is sol-gel ceramic non-stick coating?

Sol-gel non-stick is often called ceramic coating and is an increasingly common replacement for other non-stick coatings in frying pans. It comprises mostly of silica and is created by applying a gel-like solution to the product and drying it in an oven. The result is a hard, glossy surface with non-stick properties. Sol-gel can be produced in different colours, it withstands high heat, is easy to use and clean – and allows cooking with little or no fat.
