How to install the TRÅDFRI gateway kit

The IKEA Home smart app and gateway make it easy to control your home lighting. Set timers to wake you up, create lighting scenes and moods and even control individual lights.

Install the TRÅDFRI dimming kit (colour and white spectrum)

Open the remote control, insert the included battery and you’re ready to go!

Open the dimmer, insert the included battery and you’re ready to go!

Install the TRÅDFRI motion sensor kit

Open the lid on the back of the motion sensor and install the included batteries. Set the symbol on the moon to have the light triggered by the motion sensor only when it’s dark or set it on the sun sensor to have it work when it’s daylight. You can also set the time to have it turn off after 1, 5 or 10 minutes of no motion.
