How sustainable is IKEA?
With home solar, veggie hot dogs and kitchen fronts made from recycled plastic bottles, we want to inspire change. As our founder, Ingvar Kamprad, said, "No method is more effective than the good example".
Sustainability is part of IKEA's DNA, and is part of our vision "to create a better everyday life for the many people". It is at the forefront of our mind's when it comes to our products (including food!).
IKEA has an ambitious, transformational sustainability strategy - People & Planet Positive - that expresses what IKEA will do to contribute to a prosperous, sustainable future. By 2030, our ambition is to inspirate and enable more than 1 billion people to live a better everyday life within the limits of our planet.
