What if I can't redeem my IKEA gift card or prepaid card?

If an IKEA gift card or prepaid card cannot be redeemed, this is often due to redemption conditions such as the required PIN or because certain types of cards are only valid in the store. Technical reasons such as temporarily reserved credit or incorrect entries can also prevent the amount from being used immediately.

General information on redemption

  • Gift cards/prepaid cards can only be entered at the end of the checkout process.
  • Promotional cards (e.g. from the IKEA Advent calendar) cannot be redeemed online, but only in the store.
  • Coupon codes vary depending on the promotion. You can find the respective conditions directly on your coupon.
 

Code entry issues

Coupon is not accepted or shown as "unloaded"
Please check:
  1. Entry position – the code must be entered at the end of the payment process.
  2. Format – enter the code without spaces.
  3. PIN available?
    • A 4-digit PIN is required for online purchases.
    • If it is missing, it is a promotional card that can only be redeemed in the furniture store.
You can check your balance online or write "gift card balance" in the IKEA chat.

Multiple coupons at the same time

Entering multiple coupon codes may result in system errors. In this case, try entering the codes one by one.
 

Payment cancellation – credit has "disappeared"

If the payment process has been canceled, the amount may be temporarily reserved.
  • The reservation will be automatically cancelled within approximately 24 hours.
  • After that, your credit will be available again in full.
 

Blocked amounts in the shopping cart

If you enter a coupon code and then leave the cart, the amount may be temporarily blocked.
  • Remove the coupon from the cart to unblock it.
  • The release usually takes place within 24 hours.
 

Vouchers from other providers

Vouchers from e.g. Cadooz, Gutscheingold or Wunschgutschein cannot be redeemed directly at IKEA.
Please check the website of the respective provider to find out how you can use it for an IKEA purchase.
 

Ticket Plus® City Card

  • Redeemable in IKEA stores within your redemption area.
  • Not suitable for online orders.
 

Coupons at IKEA.de

Only German coupons can be redeemed on the German IKEA website.
Also note:
  • Only one coupon per order
  • Cannot be combined with:
    • IKEA Family Offers
    • IKEA Gift Cards/Prepaid Cards
 

Click & Collect

For Click & Collect, you can use IKEA gift cards/prepaid cards with a PIN. Not combinable: Payment via Klarna.
 

Problems with your gift card

 

Gift card not arrived

Please contact us via chat and enter the phrase "Gift card not received". We will check the order for you.

No PIN on the back

  • Older gift cards or refund cards may have been issued without a PIN.
  • These cards are not redeemable online, but only in the furniture store.
  • They do not have an expiration date.

Card number or PIN unreadable

If the number or PIN is damaged or illegible, the credit can unfortunately no longer be redeemed and the card cannot be replaced or refunded.

Credit suddenly disappeared

If a card has been added to an order, the amount will be reserved. If the order has not been completed:
  • it takes up to an hour for the reservation to be cancelled
  • after that, you can use the card again
 

Validity

IKEA gift cards can be redeemed within three years of purchase.
