How can I improve my IKEA Creative Scan?

This is the best way to scan your room.

1. Where you stand and how to prepare your room
Take a step back to capture as much of the space as possible in the horizontal photo.
Make sure the floor is pictured in the photo. This broader perspective improves the scanning quality.
2. Capture in good light
Make sure your room is well-lit. Open the blinds and turn on the lights if necessary.
Rooms shot in bright conditions produce much better images.
3. Take a wide-angle picture
If you're scanning using the 5-point panorama method, follow the app's instructions to rotate your smartphone to 5 target points (wait for the checkmark before moving on to the next target point). Hold your smartphone with both hands, rotate it with your hands and forearms, and keep your elbows close to your body. Avoid moving your smartphone back and forth, and don't twist or twist your entire body.
4. Accept the preview
Check the recording preview that appears on your screen.
Make sure that it encompasses the entire area you want to design and that it looks bright and clear enough.
If both conditions are met, tap Yes to continue.
5. Overlay your wide-angle image with a scan
There's no need for perfection here—roughly align the images and tap Done.
6. Measure the room
Stand where you want it and slowly move your smartphone in a wide 8 motion, starting in the middle of the area.
Make sure your camera captures the floor, walls, and ceiling of the room and covers a large area in front of you.
7. Do an 8 movement (devices with LiDAR capabilities will automatically skip this step)
Take a big step left or right when prompted, then tap Done.
You'll see a split screen where you can align images 1st and 2nd. Click Done when you're ready.
Perform another 8 movement.
Once the scanning process is complete, we'll send you an email so you can start designing your space. You can access it to create in the mobile app by going to Settings > IKEA Creative > Saved Rooms > your profile.
