Can I use a box spring mattress in an IKEA bed frame?
Yes, you can with many of our bed frames!
The majority of IKEA's bedframes are designed in a Swedish-European style, with wooden bed slats to provide firm posture support for the mattress. If you combine an IKEA bedframe with a box spring mattress, then no slats are required. With a box-spring mattress, you can attach legs instead of combining it with a bedframe. Regardless of the bed base, the midbeam is always mandatory if the bedframe you have chosen requires one.
