Product details

The worktop is made in bamboo which is an easy-care and hard-wearing natural material.

Bamboo is a durable and stable hardwood with a uniform texture. It is moisture and scratch-resistant. The natural color of bamboo is similar to that of beech wood.

Gives you extra storage, utility and work space.

You can switch the places of the various shelves to suit your storage needs.

The hooks on the side of the workbench are perfect for hanging for example kitchen utensils or tea towels.

Adjustable feet make it possible to compensate any irregularities in the floor.

This kitchen island has been tested against our strictest standards for stability, durability and safety to withstand everyday use in your home for years.

Material

What is bamboo?

Strong, flexible and one of the world's fastest growing plants – bamboo has many uses that make it an excellent renewable material. It’s a type of grass and usually grows without the need for fertilizers or irrigation. After being harvested, it grows new shoots that are ready for harvesting after 4-6 years. At IKEA we use bamboo for items like furniture, bathroom decor, baskets and lamps – and we are constantly exploring more areas of use for this versatile material.

"When I designed RIMFORSA series I wanted to inspire people to cook – and help make the kitchen a practical place for preparing food together with family and friends. With RIMFORSA organisers I wanted to make it easier to store and display fruits and spices in a beautiful way. The stainless steel together with bamboo brings a modern style with high quality, and is a step towards a more sustainable use of materials."
