[NATIONAL] IKEA urges all customers that have purchased the bib MATVRÅ, Blue/Red 2-pack, to stop using it and to contact IKEA for remedy.
IKEA takes product safety very seriously. All our products are tested and comply with applicable standards and legislation. In spite of this we have received reports that the button on the MATVRÅ can come off and thus presents a choking hazard. No known incidents have been reported in Thailand.
IKEA urges all customers to return the product to IKEA for a full refund or a similar product.
“It has come to our attention that there is a risk for the button to come off if the child pulls at it” says Emelie Knoester, Business Area Manager at IKEA of Sweden, and continues:
“The safety of customers is a top priority for IKEA, which is why we choose to recall the children’s bib MATVRÅ Blue/Red 2-pack, as a precautionary measure. The bibs with the same name, MATVRÅ, fruit/vegetables pattern, green/yellow, are safe to use due to different material and design.”
The children’s bib MATVRÅ can be returned to any IKEA store for a full refund or a replacement product.
According to the Revenue department of Thailand (tax office), a receipt number should be stated in the credit note when issuing a refund, so we would appreciate if you can present the receipt.
In case of no receipt, we will have to return in the form of an IKEA gift card.
IKEA apologises for any inconvenience this may cause and would like to thank you for your understanding.
