Airing and vacuuming will help to eliminate the smell that the rug can have when it is new.
Cleaning: Use a mild detergent, brush with a soft brush and rinse thoroughly with water. Let the rug dry completely before use

Vacuum, shake and rotate the rug regularly.
Dry spots; remove immediately by scraping carefully towards the middle of the spot.

We use this rug in the playroom area of our basement. It looks great and has a nice flat weave that doesn’t get in the way of toddler ride-on toys. It’s also indoor/outdoor so okay to get wet while kids use the water table.
