Assembly service for private customers

All IKEA products are designed so that you assemble them yourself, but you don't have to! Book an assembly service at a fixed price via our external partner Hemfixarna Nordic AB. Choose what you want assembled and get a fixed price right away.

When shopping online, you can book assembly directly in the check out at the time of your purchase. There, you can choose a preliminary assembly date that suits you after the planned delivery. If you want to book an assembly after you have made a purchase visit us in-store, contact IKEA Customer service or visit the Hemfixarna Nordic AB website (by clicking the link, you will be redirected to a Swedish website). 

There is also the option to choose evenings and weekends for the assembly service.

How the assembly service works

  1. Add the products you want to buy to your shopping bag on IKEA.se, where you have the opportunity to book assembly directly as part of your purchase. If you are shopping in-store, talk to an IKEA co-worker to book your assembly service. Alternatively, visit the Hemfixarna Nordic AB website*.
  2. Once you have booked your assembly service and chosen a preliminary date for your home visit, Hemfixarna Nordic AB will contact you to arrange an exact time and date that suits everyone.
  3. Hemfixarna Nordic AB will come to your home and assemble the products according to the assembly instructions.
  4. Once the job is complete, you will receive an invoice with a 50% RUT deduction if you are eligible according to the fixed price package you selected. You can also choose to pay by Swish if you prefer.

What is included in the assembly service, and what do I, as a customer, need to prepare?

 Good to know

  • The service is RUT-eligible, which means you can get a 50% RUT deduction on the cost of the work. You can read more about the terms and conditions for the RUT deduction on Skatteverkets website*.
  • The assembly service is available throughout Sweden. If you live in a location that can only be reached by car ferry, an additional ferry fee of 2000:- may apply. You will be informed of this during your communication with our service partner. 
  • Payment for the assembly service is always made directly to Hemfixarna Nordic AB afer completion of the job. You can choose to pay on invoice or via Swish.
  • As a private customer, you may sometimes need to help with bulky furniture for brief, individual steps.
