IKEA  recalls SMÖJTRÄD unscented chandelier candles, 25 cm, due to the risk of fire and burns

IKEA urges all customers who own SMÖJTRÄD unscented chandelier candles, 25 cm, to stop using them and contact IKEA for a full refund. Due to a manufacturing error, additional wicks may be embedded inside the candles, which can cause a larger flame than expected resulting in a risk of fire or burns.

Why is this product not safe to use?  

Due to a manufacturing error, some SMÖJTRÄD candles may contain additional wicks embedded within the wax. In the affected products, the additional wicks may ignite, causing a larger-than-expected flame and posing a risk of fire or burn injuries.   

What should customers do?

Customers who have purchased these candles are urged to stop using them immediately and return them to any IKEA store for a full refund or replacement. No proof of purchase is required.  

Additionally, IKEA encourages customers to spread the word about this recall, especially if they know that the recalled product was offered or sold to someone else.
