Why did IKEA stop producing the IKEA catalogue?
Times are changing, our customers habits have changed, and along the way we've found other ways to share our home furnishing knowledge and offering. For this reason, we decided to stop producing the IKEA catalogue, both the printed and online versions.
For 70 years, the IKEA catalogue has been a well-known and beloved print that has played an important role in how IKEA has managed to reach out to and inspire the many people around the world with products and solutions for home furnishing. But times change, our customers' habits have changed, and along the way we have found other ways to share our home furnishing knowledge and offering.
For this reason, we have decided to stop producing the IKEA catalogue, both the printed and the online versions. It is of course an emotional decision, but at the same time a correct one, since the volumes of printed material have decreased in recent years while digital content has increased. IKEA now looks to the future with confidence as this chapter closes and another begins. The IKEA catalogue 2021 was the last catalogue to be produced.
