What updates were made to the BILLY series in 2014?

BILLY has been available at IKEA for many years, but in 2014 we made a number of improvements to the range. For example, the bookcase has more and smaller screw holes for better flexibility, the white color has become whiter and the screw holes have been moved from the ends so that the ends are now completely smooth. 

It is not possible to complement an old BILLY bookcase with new doors or fitting because of the changes. There will be some differences in appearance, If you put a new and old BILLY bookcase next to each other.

All the changes in BILLY bookcase series 2014:

  • More and smaller holes provice more flexibility
  • The shelves have become more durable
  • The white color has become even whiter
  • A new expression in brushed and matte lacquered veneer
  • The doors of Billy have recieved a new look
  • The bookcase in 60 cm has been discontinued
  • The sides have become completely smooth on the outside (previously the fixed shelf were screwed from the outside)
  • The new version of BILLY has a foldable back (previously it came in two parts)
