Level up: how to make a small room into a gaming room

Want to turn an underused or unused room into a gaming room? The difficulty level is easy with these suggestions. In a small room, prioritise needs and comfort for smooth gameplay while adding pieces that encourage organisation, choice and making the most of the space you’ve got. GLHF.

Determine your mission to build the right setup

Start with how/who will play and what the room can fit. Console, PC? Solo, together? All the above? If needed, consider smaller furniture or revisit your musts. Look for built-in cable management for a clean, calm feel. A TV benefits from a bench with storage. A generously sized gaming desk properly holds essentials.

Choose a chair to help you unlock achievements

A just-right gaming chair might make you forget you’re sitting down. Another reason to take breaks!

Console gaming
Beyond comfort factors like softness and support, consider a lightweight gaming chair or one that’s easy to move around. Our BRÄNNBOLL series has gaming chairs with extras like folding into a lounge chair and swinging side to side.

PC gaming
Castors and supportive features are standard for our PC gaming chairs. Find the one for you by deciding what’s most important: adjustable headrest, seat depth, lumbar support, armrests or tilt tension.

Material menu
What feels good to you? Does coolness matter? If so, mesh is most breathable; then fabric, leather and leather-like coated fabric. Some chairs mix materials. MATCHSPEL gaming chair has an airy mesh backrest and a leather-like upholstery seat that’s durable and easy to wipe clean.

Pro tip: When browsing online, narrow your options by using filter or compare tools.

Collect double duty pieces that can teleport (sort of)

Flexible furniture is ideal in small spaces. Think disappearing. Portable, rollable, deflatable, hangable – things you can move out of the way or where you want. Go for multifunction, especially with storage. Many trolleys can be side tables. So can BRÄNNBOLL basket. Some pouffes and chairs have pockets or stash spots.

Max out the room’s atmosphere

Psych yourself up while the game’s loading or celebrate when you’ve beaten the game. A SYMFONISK speaker with a graphic panel blends in like a secret portal to your playlists. Visible or hidden, an ORMANÄS LED lighting strip can be different colours (even white) for fun, functional and flexible ways to set the vibe.
