Kids’ craft room ideas ready for flights of imagination

Whatever its size, a dedicated arts and crafts area at home can give your kids – and you – space for creative sparks to fly. If you are dreaming of a craft area, we’ve got the ideas to help you work out how to bring it to life. We can’t promise it won’t get messy, but we can help to make it easier to tidy up afterwards.

Partners in craft!

Our MAMMUT children’s furniture and TROFAST storage were born to support children’s crafting! TROFAST boxes in multiple sizes make it easy to store all kinds of art and craft materials. Then it’s over to the space where the creative magic happens – the durable wipe-clean surface of our MAMMUT table.

Get crafty in the living room!

A craft space in the living room is not as daunting as it seems. It makes it easier for you to join in, or be on hand to help. The trick is to use furniture that blends into the space. Pay attention to lighting, then finish with good storage – this SKÅDIS pegboard combination keeps things accessible and off the floor.

A one-stop art station

Here’s a super useful way to keep favourite pens and pencils near the paper when you don’t have lots of space. Store it with the paper itself! Then you can simply spread out some paper from this MÅLA paper roll on the table, pick up the art materials and get started. When the artwork is complete, simply tear it off, hang it up and roll out more paper ready for the next one.

Ready for when creative ideas strike

This portable organiser transforms any table, desk, or floor into a personal art studio. Space-wise, it’s very generous, with room for everything from pens and pencils to paper, paints, brushes and even a tablet.

When a change of scenery is called for, simply pack it up and move to the next destination – or store it away for the next time inspiration strikes.

Space for their artistic streak to grow

If there’s room, a desk in their bedroom creates another great crafting spot. Store craft materials and paper in arm’s reach with open shelving on or beside the desk. It helps your kids see what’s there and to pick and choose what they want to use. Change the art supplies now and then, to keep things interesting.

Anywhere can be a craft area!

It might be the kitchen table, or it might be the floor. Crafting can take place anywhere. All you need to add are paper and pens.

It’s helpful if craft materials can be stored nearby so the momentum isn’t lost. Create a handy art supplies corner beside an area where your kids like to play so you can all get down to the business of creating together when an idea takes hold.

An organised corner

If your child is juggling homework with hobbies, a desk with accessories can help to keep different equipment and materials organised and easy to access. This RELATERA sit/stand desk gives them flexibility while working and comes with lots of useful desk accessories. Enlist the help of a trolley to manage all the other stuff. This ÖVNING trolley has different compartments so schoolwork and craft materials don’t have to get mixed up.
