How to choose a pillow that your head – and body – love

Hello deeper sleep. A good night’s sleep is always the best start to the day, and the right pillow can make all the difference. But what does soft comfort feel like when it comes to your pillow? Read on to find out how different pillow materials and heights can help give you that sleeping-on-a-cloud feeling.

Natural materials – the full story

Pillows made with natural materials can be filled with down and feathers, which can be mixed to create different effects. More down makes for a softer and fluffier feel that’s lightweight, whereas more feathers create a more resilient, heavier pillow. All pillows filled with natural materials absorb moisture and allow air to circulate, giving you a dry, breathable sleeping environment. They are easily machine-washed at 60°C, the temperature that keeps dust mites away.

All you need to know about polyester pillows

Our polyester pillows are filled with recycled polyester filling. Pliable and springy, they easily plump back into shape, providing good support for your head. They also insulate well, creating a cosy sleep environment, and are hypoallergenic so are a great solution for people with any kind of allergy. Caring for them is a breeze, simply pop them in the machine.

Make friends with memory foam

Our ergonomic pillows all have a memory foam filling. By responding to your body shape and temperature, it moulds to the shape of your head and neck, helping your muscles relax properly. The result? You move around less, with a ventilation layer allowing air to circulate while you sleep. All the covers are washable while the memory foam inside simply needs to be aired to keep it fresh.

Get the right pillow for your sleep position

Are you a side, back or stomach sleeper? Whichever way you slumber, your head, neck and spine should be aligned in a straight line for maximum comfort and good spine health. This is why pillow height matters. Different heights support different sleep positions in the correct alignment. Here’s how:

  • Side or back sleepers
When you sleep on your side or your back, your head needs to be lifted higher to accommodate your shoulders or be in correct alignment with your back. A high pillow helps nicely here.
  • For stomach sleepers
Sleeping on your stomach can cause pressure on your back and neck, so we don’t recommend a high pillow. Go for a low one to keep your neck in a good position.

All our pillows come in a range of heights and fillings so it’s easy to choose the one that works with your sleep style. Look out for the symbols next to the pillow descriptions to see which sleep position it works best for you. Your head – and body – will thank you for it!

Your pillow is one of the main ingredients for a good night’s sleep, so to achieve the best comfort, you need to choose the right filling for you. We use memory foam, polyester and natural fillings in our pillows. Natural filling, made from down and feathers is long-lasting and high quality with excellent moisture-absorbing properties. Polyester fillings are a good option for people with allergies and have good breathability and are easy to care for. Memory foam supports your head and neck so you can relax, and have easily washable covers.

Love your pillow and it wil love you back

Our pillows are made to a very high standard and have been developed to be durable, easy to care for and to last a long time. A daily plump will help them keep in shape night after night, and adding a pillow protector will keep the cover looking as pristine as possible for longer.

All down, feather and polyester pillows can be washed in the machine at 60°C – the temperature that will get rid of dust mites. While the memory foam filling of our ergonomic pillows can’t be washed, all their covers can go in the machine. Simply give the filling an air to keep it fresh.
