Room to connect with nature

Living in the city doesn’t have to mean you miss out on living and sleeping with nature. There are lots of ways to bring a countryside idyll vibe into your co-sleeping bedroom.

Fill the space with soft organic shapes and cushion covers and textiles in colours of nature, like green and light brown. And why not bring in the sounds of nature with a NATTBAD Bluetooth speaker, waking up or falling asleep to recordings of birdsong and forest sounds. Think of it as a stay-at-home rural retreat. Every night.

Take a seat at your storage

How about TROFAST storage as a seating nook? Place two or three units side by side to create the base, then finish with seating pads and an array of cushions. In no time you’ve got a me-time retreat where you can relax and take stock of the day, do late night feeds, or spend time bonding with your baby.

And what about the storage? Mix up different sized boxes in a range of colours to build a striking look for storage that holds much more than your kids’ toys. You might even get a unit for yourself!

Make the most of your dressing area

In a shared family bedroom, a dressing area can transform the daily activity of getting dressed into a calming ritual. It’s just a question of getting all the storage in place.

Mixing up the clothing storage helps to make the most of a compact space and creates an inspiring dressing area. An open and closed PLATSA wardrobe adds an airy, fresh feel, with open hangers and shelves making it easy to manage things like day-to-day outfits.

Take it to the top by putting bulky storage on top of the wardrobe in classic boxes and add a coat rack for those things you reach for every day.

Don’t hide the small things

They deserve to be on view – especially if they are the finishing touch to your outfit. A shelf, a humble hook rack and a MOPPE mini chest can transform an empty wall into functional and good-looking storage. Show off small treasures on hooks beside things you use every day to add beauty and personality to your space. The mini chest keeps small things from disappearing into a black hole of a larger basket or drawer, never to be found again.

A mix of fun and hardworking lighting completes the look. It creates atmosphere and gives your objects and treasures the visibility they deserve – even if it’s only you and your family who get to admire them.

There’s lots of space for childrens’ clothes too!

When you’ve got a baby and small child it helps to have all their clothes in one place near yours so you can keep track of what still fits and oversee what they are going to wear that day.

One of the SMÅSTAD wardrobe’s great charms is its flexibility. Designed to hold kids’ clothes of all ages, it’s easily accessed by children who are learning to be independent, so they can get themselves dressed under your watch. Baby’s things can live inside an accessible wall cabinet, with open boxes on top of the wardrobe keeping frequent essentials ready to go when called for.

Roll out the trolley and relax

When the trolley comes out, it’s time for you. Parenting young children is hard work, so be sure to factor in time to relax and recharge – while you’re still awake!

There’s a good reason our NISSAFORS trolley is a mobile storage favourite. Whether it’s the guardian of snacks or keeper of a mood light (or both), it can manage most things small storage related, and easily slot into small spaces when you need it out of the way.

Cover your bed with extra soft cotton bed linen like BJÖRKGRÅMAL to put you on a fast track towards relax mode.
