Monochrome textiles with pink tassels.

Trim with tassels

Give a monochrome blanket a playful edge. These tassels are handmade from wool and sewn on.

Customise

Take a plain plant pot and use gold tape to create a metallic design – it’s easier and quicker than paint.

Put frames in the picture

Treat your frames like art. Reinvent the white UNG DRILL frame with neon spray paint, or use drawing pins to give a plain frame a studded finish.

Printed labels on three black jars.

Label it

Keep an old-fashioned office label-maker handy to make your own personalised labels.

A portrait of Pati.

Use what you have

When we visited Pati’s home we spotted her great ideas for making the things she buys a bit more ‘Pati’. She says: “I’ve never had much money but that’s made me more inventive. I found ex-display curtains in the IKEA bargain corner and used them for a reupholstery project – perfect!”

We love to see our customers get creative with our products. Go for it! But please note that altering or modifying IKEA products so they can no longer be re-sold or used for their original purpose, means the IKEA commercial guarantees and your right to return the products will be lost.
