How does a kitchen measuring service work?

The IKEA kitchen measuring service gives you a reliable foundation to plan your kitchen or laundry in your home.

The IKEA kitchen measuring service gives you a reliable foundation to plan your kitchen or laundry in your home – and peace of mind that all your planning will lead to perfection. Let our technicians provide correct measurements and document the necessary details.
At $199 per room, the IKEA kitchen measuring service ensures quality assurance, so you’re less likely to encounter costly mistakes or surprises during the dreaming, planning, ordering, and installation process.
This service is currently only available in select postcodes in metropolitan areas. T&Cs apply
This is how it works:
  1. Get inspired. Spend some time browsing room inspiration and ideas and exploring all our free online 3D planners. Take notes on which styles, colours, products and ideas you like.
  2. Book an appointment. Consult a co-worker in store, or contact IKEA customer service to book and pay for your appointment.
  3. What do you need? Be sure your space is ready to be measured. Walls and ceilings must be finished. Plumbing, gas and electrical connections must be present.
  4. Need to reschedule/cancel your appointment? Contact IKEA customer service if you need to reschedule or cancel your planning appointment. You can reach IKEA Customer Service by typing "I want to talk to a human" in the chat. Alternatively, you can call (+64) 9802 4864. Please do this at least 24 hours before the scheduled appointment, otherwise a cancellation fee for the service will apply.
  5. Have your space measured. During your appointment, a professional technician will take photos and collect all the necessary details about your space like room dimensions, wall/corner inspections and locations of doors, plumbing, etc.
  6. Take time to assess the measurements and the next steps. You will receive a copy of your room measurements after the measuring service is complete. When you are ready, you can either plan your room using our  free online 3D planners, or book a planning appointment with a specialist either online or instore.
